Supporting Justice

Welcome to the David vs. Goliath Foundation, where we stand with survivors, fight for justice, and provide a platform for change.

The David vs. Goliath Foundation is dedicated to advocating for survivors of childhood sexual abuse in Louisiana and beyond. Our is to empower survivors to seek justice and drive legislative reforms that protect future generations

.**Historical Context of Child Sexual Abuse in Louisiana**Louisiana has a deeply troubling history of child sexual abuse, particularly within religious institutions. Since 1985, multiple claims have emerged across all seven Roman Catholic dioceses in the state, revealing a pattern of abuse and systemic cover-ups. Investigations have uncovered numerous cases where clergy members exploited their positions of trust, leading to profound and lasting trauma for countless survivors.

Beyond the Catholic Church, other organizations, including the Southern Baptist Convention, have faced allegations of sexual misconduct. Reports indicate that approximately 380 clergy, lay leaders, and volunteers within Southern Baptist churches have faced allegations of sexual misconduct, affecting over 700 victims since 1998. These underscore the pervasive nature of abuse across various institutions in Louisiana.

**Legislative Changes and the Path to Justice**

In a significant move toward justice, the Louisiana Supreme Court reinstated a law in 2024 that allows survivors of childhood sexual abuse to file civil lawsuits until June 14, 2027, regardless of when the abuse occurred. This decision provides a crucial opportunity for survivors to seek redress and hold perpetrators accountable, marking a pivotal shift in the state's approach to addressing past abuses**Our Inspiration: David's Legacy
